Our sponsors

Community Energy Action would not be able to do its work without the loyal support of our sponsors and funders. The following organisations are currently financially supporting Community Energy Action:

Orion New Zealand Ltd

Mid-Canterbury lines company Orion has been a supporter of Community Energy Action from the start and its Chief Executive Roger Sutton has been a trustee for many years. Orion supports Community Energy Action in many different ways. Apart from providing funding for our programmes Orion has also housed Community Energy Action on their premises until larger premises became necessary in early 2010.

“It’s a fabulous organisation which we’ve supported since it opened,” says Roger Sutton, Chief Executive of Orion New Zealand Ltd.

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority

Through its ENERGYWISETM funding programme (Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart) Community Energy Action receives funding from the government through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA). Community Energy Action is an approved provider of the subsidies available to all homeowners and rental properties with homes built before 2000 regardless of incomes. However Community Energy Action is also one of only a handful of organisations approved by EECA to provide the higher subsidies for homeowners with a Community Services Card and rental properties with tenants with a Community Services Card.

MainPower Ltd

Community Energy Action has been working together with North Canterbury lines company MainPower since 2004. With their financial support Community Energy Action brings insulation projects to the North Canterbury and Kaikoura communities.

Canterbury Community Trust

The Canterbury Community Trust provides funding for the Elderly Health Programme, which offers additional subsidies for people over 65 on a low income and especially those with cold-related health conditions.
