Our Trust Board

CEA is governed by a board of experienced, voluntary trustees.

 

Don Chittock

Don is the chair of Community Energy Action. He is a Programme Manager at Environment Canterbury managing and supporting the development of strategic direction, work programmes and monitoring and reporting on progress to or achievement of set outcomes in a number of portfolio areas. In the past Don has worked in management, technical field and operational roles and sales positions in the rural services, transport and construction sectors. For a number of years Don has been a Trustee of Ōpāwa Primary School.

 

Ian McKenzie

 Ian is deputy Chair of Community Energy Action. He is a Project Management Consultant with a background in local government management and infrastructure development, including leading teams in building and community development projects. A member of the executive and past chair of the South Island Branch of the Project Management Institute NZ, Ian also facilitates stakeholder consultation and trains in construction and project management.

 Sam Uta'i

Sam comes to us with a background in youth and community development, and a strong focus on social justice and human rights. Currently Sam works as an educator for CPIT at the Next Step Centre for Women, here in Christchurch. She is passionate about people, eradicating poverty and being a Pacific nation.

 

David Hackston

David is a Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor with Nexia New Zealand. He has experience working with large and small businesses across New Zealand and working with business owners to improve their businesses to achieve their personal and business goals. His experience includes roles as a CFO, Independent Director and Trustee in community based health sector organisations. David has previously worked in the banking and finance sector.

David Griffiths

David is an Advisor to the Director and a member of the Planning Team of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC).  This role supports the DPMC’s continuing role in the recovery of greater Christchurch and requires working across central, local government and the new agencies created to support recovery.   Prior to this, David worked as GM Residential Rebuild & Housing with the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) where he was responsible for a programme of works that covered both supply of new housing to replace lost stock and the repair/rebuild of existing homes.  David’s earlier career included roles with the Ministry of Social Development and Housing New Zealand.  David is the Deputy Chair of Comcare Trust and is on the national Boards of the Child Cancer Foundation, Canteen and Neighbourhood Support.
